LOW is a tattoo artist based in New York. Having been involved in various forms of art since a young age, he initially studied visual design in South Korea. However, he left his degree program after becoming captivated by tattooing and started his journey into the tattoo world in 2014. In 2021, LOW relocated his practice to New York and has continued to work there ever since. He is known for integrating his unique calligraphy art into his tattoo work, creating pieces based on Korean, Chinese, and English scripts as well as abstract brush strokes. Through this, he crafts beautiful lines on the human body that exude both intensity and elegance.
Much of LOW’s inspiration comes from Eastern Buddhist philosophy. He expresses his thoughts and emotions through his distinctive calligraphy style, going beyond mere design to help people discover their identity and heal their wounds through his art. Believing in the power of language, LOW sees it as a core part of a person’s identity and spirit. Accordingly, he strives to inscribe his clients’ identities and beliefs onto their bodies in his signature style.
Since 2021, LOW has been working as a tattoo artist in New York’s SoHo area. In 2022, he was recognized in Vogue as one of six Asian artists shaping New York City’s creative scene.
