Gerrit was raised in the small town of Wasilla, Alaska, where his parents carefully fostered a household of creativity, and self learning for him and his 6 siblings. He did not attend a public school system, but instead was homeschooled and was able to diligently focus on the things that Interested him, like music and drawing. In early 2021, after being unable to find a tattoo apprenticeship in the small town of Redding, California, he decided to be self taught. His work would soon gain large recognition in his town for his unique compositions and attention to detail. And later that year, he accepted an invitation to join a local tattoo shop.
He spent his time ferociously dedicated to his art, and tattooed nearly every day for three years. His keen design eye, and obsessive work ethic quickly set his art apart, and would lead to receiving invitations to tattoo all over the world.
In 2025, he made the decision to sell his studio in California, and begin a new chapter in Nashville, Tennessee, and now frequents Brooklyn, NY as a resident guest artist at Monolith Studio. Gerrit sees the tattoo design and procedure as something sacred, and makes it his priority to serve his clientele to the best of his ability.
